Creativebug Subscription Available to Library Patrons

In 2020, Waseca-Le Sueur Regional Library System patrons can enjoy unlimited access to thousands of online art and craft classes on Creativebug by using their library card number. Videos are produced by renowned artists and creative experts, from author and illustrator Lisa Congdon to Making It finalist Amber Kemp-Gerstel to Stich n’ Bitch knitter and crocheter Debbie Stoller. Instructors bring a lifetime of practice, passion, and proven teaching methods to the latest craft and art trends along with the basics every maker needs to learn. People of all skill levels can work alongside instructors to learn craft techniques, with class offerings ranging from sewing to papercraft to holiday décor.

“Libraries are transforming into places where people follow their passions—learning new skills and creating,” said Stacy Lienemann, Waseca-Le Sueur Regional Library System Director. “Creativebug works well with our patrons because they can view the classes on their schedule—working on their projects at home, or coming to the library to work on a project with us.”

Patrons have an all-access, no-boundaries pass to explore thousands of classes. To access, patrons can use their library card number and password to log in at www.creativebug.com/lib/wasecalesueur. If patrons do not know their password, they should contact their local librarian.

Creativebug’s platform is simple and intuitive, with features like chapter divisions, note-taking tools, 20-second rewind, clear instructions, materials lists, and more. Users can save favorite classes and receive personalized recommendations.

In addition, Waseca-Le Sueur Regional Library System will begin holding classes utilizing these videos and providing the craft materials for patrons in March, including a Sketchbook Series collaboration with Waseca Public Library and Waseca Art Center.
