Waseca-Le Sueur Regional Library System libraries will continue to be closed through April 10th in an abundance of caution for our communities and staff due to the public health situation linked to Covid-19. This includes Elysian Area Library, Janesville Public Library, Le Center Public Library, Le Sueur Public Library, Montgomery Public Library, New Richland Public Library, Waldorf Public Library, Waseca Public Library, and Waterville Public Library. We will also be halting curbside and home delivery through April 10th.
We added a significant amount of new school-age content to our online collection of e-books and e-audiobooks, available at OverDrive and Libby.
Library patrons can also use their library cards to access Creativebug craft and art classes.
We are temporarily unblocking blocked library cards since we are currently not accepting money. We want to ensure our patrons, especially the kids who have switched to distance learning, are able to access library materials while social distancing. We will be holding online events—details will be announced soon!
For those without library cards, we are registering community members via phone and email.
Wifi is available from our parking lots. Staff will continue to provide reference services (through phone, email, website, and Facebook) and reader’s advisory as much as we are able. Please see our website and social media to find out more about these services.
In the meantime, staff have created a list of Activities and Tips for Social Distancing which will continue to be updated while libraries are closed.
We advise community members to keep their library items for the time being. All loans will be renewed and fines forgiven.
