Walking the Old Road

September 30, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

Staci Drouillard tells the story of Chippewa City, an Ojibwe village once home to around 200 families at the turn of the 19th century. In the 20th century, the land—prime lake shore—was gradually stolen from under the Ojibwe, including Drouillard’s family, living there.

This series is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
